How the Sarrià Festival works
It is organised by the Comissió de Festes del Roser de Sarrià, a volunteer association, together with dozens of local groups, schools and streets. The heart of it is Plaça de Sarrià, in front of the church, and the adjoining Plaça del Consell de la Vila; Plaça de Sant Vicenç is a few minutes down Carrer Major. Almost everything is free and outdoors, and plans for little ones are concentrated on weekend mornings and some afternoons from 5 pm.
🎪 Throughout the festival, the Vicençs and Rosers teams compete in the 13th Batalla per Sarrià: duck races, wheel throwing, musical chairs and a final treasure hunt. To take part you need the official T-shirt, sold at the Josefa Cortinas and El Trèbol haberdasheries, at the festival bar and at the events themselves.

The Firaires de Sarrià set up the funfair from 2 to 18 October at Porta de Sarrià and Plaça Cirici Pellicer (Caputxins de Sarrià). It opens on weekdays from 5 to 8 pm, on Saturdays from 11 am to 2 pm and 5 pm to midnight, and on Sundays from 11 am to 2 pm and 5 to 10 pm; on the festival Fridays, the 2nd and 9th, until midnight. This year the programme has no children’s correfoc. The big fire run, “Sarrià en flames”, is on Saturday the 10th: the drummers set off up Carrer Major from Plaça de Sant Vicenç at 7.30 pm, the show and verses start at 8.30 pm, the correfoc at 9.15 pm and the finale with a ceiling of fire at 10.15 pm. For little ones to experience it from the inside, that same Saturday from 11 am to 1 pm the Diablets de Sarrià run the “Vols ser un petit diable?” workshop in Plaça del Consell de la Vila, where children can light a firework with prior authorisation.
🎪 The official festival neckerchief is 100% cotton and suitable for the correfoc: it costs €2.50 in advance (€3 at the bar) and is sold at the Josefa Cortinas and El Trèbol haberdasheries, Caramelia, Casa Orlandai and the Associació Veïnal.

The heart of the festival is easy to walk with a buggy: Plaça de Sarrià and Plaça del Consell de la Vila are right next to each other, and Plaça de Sant Vicenç is a short way down Carrer Major. The Tren de l’Oreneta (in Parc de l’Oreneta), the Sarrià civic centre (Vila Cecília) and the funfair in Plaça Cirici Pellicer are a little further out.
The best way to get there is the FGC train, with stations at Sarrià and Reina Elisenda; on the 2nd, 3rd, 9th, 10th and 11th there is a special timetable until 3 am. There are drinking fountains in Plaça de Sarrià, Consell de la Vila, Sant Vicenç, Artós and del Xiprer, on Carrer Canet and Hort de la Vila and in the small Can Garriga square. Reusable cups at the bar (€1) are not refundable, so the programme asks you to bring one from home.
Mum to mum: if you can only go one day, make it Saturday the 3rd. In the morning you can string together the Blauet hot chocolate, the Follets route and a workshop, then come back in the afternoon for the parade and the Xocogresca. If you have energy left for the second weekend, the castells on Sunday the 11th and the film on Monday the 12th close the festival without a late night.
