Sants Festival 2026 with Kids: Decorated Streets, Funfair and Activities

  • 6 min read

From 22 to 29 August 2026, Sants takes over from Gràcia: eleven decorated streets and squares, the funfair on Rambla de Badal and a children's programme that fills mornings and afternoons with workshops, storytelling, water games and shows. Here is the map of the decorations and everything there is for kids, day by day.

The decorated streets and squares

Eleven streets and squares in the neighbourhood are decorated this year. Nearly all of them are a few minutes apart on foot, between Plaça de Sants and Plaça de la Farga, so you can see several on a single walk without taking the metro.

The funfair

🎪 Beyond the timed activities, two plans are there every day: the funfair on Rambla de Badal and the walk through the eleven decorated streets.

Fira d'atraccions de la Rambla de Badal

Ages 2+

💬 It is the fallback plan of the week: it is up every day of the festival and stays until 30 August, one day longer than the rest of the programme. If a workshop falls through or it rains, the funfair is always there.

ℹ️ 📍 Rambla de Badal. From 22 to 30 August. Entry is free and you pay per ride.

Beyond the decorated streets

Not everything happens on the decorated streets. Four children’s events take place in parks and squares around the neighbourhood and are worth a trip of their own, especially the free-play morning at Parc de l’Espanya Industrial and the children’s correfoc that closes the week.

Jocs infantils i tradicionals al Parc de l'Espanya Industrial

All ages

💬 It is the longest activity of the whole festival: Tuesday 25th morning and afternoon, with a lunch break in between. Free play with natural materials and giant wooden games, so little ones come and go at their own pace.

ℹ️ 📍 Parc de l’Espanya Industrial. Tuesday 25th, 10 am to 2 pm and 4 pm to 6.30 pm. Free.

3

Actuació infantil «Reboom!...bori!»

All ages

💬 It falls on the same Tuesday, at the end of the afternoon and in the same park as the games: if you last the whole day, the two link up without moving.

ℹ️ 📍 Parc de l’Espanya Industrial. Tuesday 25th, 7.30 pm to 8.30 pm. By Companyia Roger Canals. Free.

4

Taller infantil de Guspires de Sants

All ages

💬 It is the way into the world of the diables for anyone curious but wary of fire: safety, music and how a colla works are all explained, with no sparks involved.

ℹ️ 📍 Placeta de Ramon Torres Casanova. Thursday 27th, 6 pm to 8 pm. Organised by Guspires de Sants. Free.

5

Correfoc infantil als jardins de Can Mantega

All ages

💬 Cotton clothes, long sleeves, a cap and closed shoes, and it is better to watch from the back the first time. If your child is wary of fire, Thursday’s Guspires workshop is the calm version of the same world.

ℹ️ 📍 Jardins de Can Mantega (start). Saturday 29th, 6.30 pm. With Guspires de Sants and Diables de Castelldefels. Free.

How to plan the day at the Festa Major de Sants with kids

Sants has one clear advantage over other neighbourhood festivals: the children’s programme is not squeezed into the afternoon. There are workshops and games at 11 am and midday on several streets, so you can do a morning plan, eat at home and come back later for something else. The noisiest, busiest activities land from 6 pm onwards.

A route that works: start at Plaça de la Farga, which packs in the most children’s activities — up to three on the same day — then head up towards Guadiana, Vallespir and Valladolid, which are close by. Alcolea de Dalt and de Baix, Galileu and Papin form the other cluster, a little further north. Sagunt sits further south, almost at Rambla de Badal, so it pairs well with a funfair day.

Mum to mum: August in Barcelona hits hard, so water, a hat and shade. Several activities involve water — water fights, foam parties — and it is worth packing a change of clothes and a towel even if it is not in the plan: if they see it, they go in. And watch out for the snacks and hot-chocolate sessions: almost everything is free, but a few ask you to buy a ticket beforehand.

Frequently asked questions

When is the Festa Major de Sants 2026?

From 22 to 29 August 2026. It starts the day after the Festa Major de Gràcia ends, and the funfair on Rambla de Badal stays one extra day, until the 30th.

How many decorated streets are there in Sants?

Eleven streets and squares are decorated and run activities: Alcolea de Baix, Alcolea de Dalt, Finlàndia, Galileu, Guadiana, Papin, Sagunt, Valladolid, Vallespir de Baix, Vallespir de Dalt and Plaça de la Farga.

Is the Festa Major de Sants free with kids?

Almost all of it: wandering among the decorations and the vast majority of the committees’ workshops, storytelling, games and shows are free. The exceptions are the funfair on Rambla de Badal, where you pay per ride, and the occasional snack that asks you to buy a ticket.

Are there activities for children in the morning?

Yes, and that is what sets Sants apart. There are workshops and games at 10 am, 11 am and midday on streets such as Sagunt, Galileu, Plaça de la Farga and Vallespir de Dalt, plus the free-play day at Parc de l’Espanya Industrial on Tuesday 25th.

Is there a correfoc for children?

Yes. The children’s correfoc starts from the Jardins de Can Mantega on Saturday 29th at 6.30 pm, with Guspires de Sants and Diables de Castelldefels. If it is your first time, on Thursday 27th the Guspires run a children’s workshop at Placeta de Ramon Torres Casanova explaining safety and how a colla works, with no fire.
