Open Nursery-School Playgrounds in Barcelona: Free Saturday Play and Storytelling

Every Saturday from 10:30 to 13:00, October to May, Barcelona's municipal nursery schools (escoles bressol) open their playgrounds to all families: free, open entry, for children aged 0 to 6. It's like a park but made for the very young, in every district, with a travelling storyteller at 11:30. Here are all the schools, their addresses and the day their story session falls on.

When do the nursery-school playgrounds open?
All of them open on Saturdays from 10:30 to 13:00, October to May. Six schools (Pau, La Mar, Ralet, L'Esquirol, Margalló and Valldaura) stay open until August. There is no service on Saturday 26 December and 2 January.
How much does it cost, and do I need to book?
It's free and entry is open: you don't have to be a pupil. The listings show no advance sign-up.
What ages are the open playgrounds for?
For children up to 6 years old, with their families. These are nursery-school playgrounds, so the space and games are designed for the youngest.
What is the travelling storytelling series?
A free storytelling series that tours the playgrounds: each school hosts one session on a Saturday at 11:30, with a story that changes with the season. The guide shows each school's day and the full calendar sorted by date. The Germanetes session is in Catalan Sign Language.
Are there open playgrounds in every district?
Schools are spread across almost the whole city: Ciutat Vella, Eixample, Sants-Montjuïc, Les Corts, Sarrià-Sant Gervasi, Gràcia, Horta-Guinardó, Nou Barris, Sant Andreu and Sant Martí. Find the one in your district in the list.
